(Throwback Repost) #MarcusWritesHocusPocus2 Part 2

In the sorority house, we see Winifred being led by the sorority girls we saw on the lawn earlier into the common room as Rachel announces to her sisters that these are alumni sisters here to perform a special ritual for their chapter. Winifred smiles and says there are great women of the past who are staples of sisterhood to create great organizations such as this. Sarah places items from her duffle bag on the floor, while Mary urges all the sorority sisters to hold hands. Winifred then opens her book and begins singing a chant as Mary and Sarah join in as well. The sorority girls look confused but all join in on the chant. We see the items Mary placed on the floor begin to glow. These items include voo-doo dolls, cauldrons, spice containers, and a bonnet. The items then zap various sorority girls as we see all the sorority girls fall to the floor as Winifred, Mary, and Sarah stand laughing. Arising we see witches in the sorority girls outfits amongst them are Cher, Carol Burnett, Idina Menzel, Sutton Foster, Barbara Streisand, Audra McDonald, Amanda Seyfried, and Jane Lynch (great combination of Broadway actresses and singers). SO THE SANDERSON SISTERS – just raised a witch army of female badasses! The witches argue about what year is it and how they died and witch banter. Winifred stops them amongst their commotion and tells them she has brought them back in order to revive the Elder Witch who will help them to attain immortality and power.
Back on the New Haven green, Oliver is asking Grace if she’s ready for the ritual. Oliver says, “Alright half of this is believing it’s working but the other half for an exorcism spell from a human vessel is an undying love for the body that is being occupied.” Grace says she’s ready to do the spell. Dani still on Facetime urging them to be quick with the Sanderson sisters having the book there is still another problem out there. Oliver, Grace, and via Facetime Dani begin the ritual. Dani explains to Grace that she needs to just needs a little bit of her blood to start the ritual and that Oliver needs to remove the mistletoe from Jodie’s neck. Grace stands with a knife in hand and cuts herself as she trickles a little bit of her blood into the ritual bowl. Oliver is in the circle as he removes the mistletoe from Jodie’s neck. As the mistletoe leaves contact with Jodie her eye’s open with Phyia’s piercing blue eyes and a sonic wave like burst of energy sends Oliver flying out of the ritual circle. However Jodie’s possessed body is now trapped and contained within the circle in a forcefield like containment. Dani tells them that as long as the circle is intact Princess Phyia cannot. Oliver brushes himself off and with Grace and Dani they begin their exorcism with a chant. We see Jodie in the middle of the ritual circle giving a death glare with Phyia’s eyes banging her hands against the forcefield. We see a struggle as Jodie is convulsing going through an internal battle with Phyia’s possession as her eye color flashes back and forth between Phyia’s blue and Jodie’s hazel eyes. Clouds and thunder begin rolling in overhead as we see Jodie’s body go horizontal as she rises chest up (like an exorcism in a movie) and a blue ethereal glow of Phyia’s spirit separates and floats above Jodie’s body.
We hear Winifred’s cackle followed by a loud thunder clap and lightning strike as a tree collapses falling right outside of the ritual circle. However we only see Winifred, Sarah, and Mary fly in over head as they hover over our four characters (three physically present, one present by cellphone connection). Winifred in Rachel’s voice says, “Roomie you’re really hanging out with the wrong crowd.” We hear Dani’s respond on Facetime exchange vengeful banter with the Sanderson sisters. Winifred zaps Oliver’s phone. Oliver yells, “Grab Jodie” to Grace. Grace runs in the circle as we see the still unconscious Jodie and hovering unconscious Phyia spirit. Grace’s hand crosses through the forcefield threshold and the forcefield is temporarily broken as Grace quickly pull’s Jodie out of the forcefield and we see a small portion of Phyia’s spirit go into the necklace on Jodie’s neck but still remaining trapped in the ritual circle.
Jodie still unconscious is awoken to the Sanderson sisters above, Phyia trapped in a ritual circle, and Grace and Oliver frantically checking to see if she’s okay. Grace yells we need to get out of there and regroup for now. Oliver slings Jodie over his shoulder and the trio makes their way back towards Oliver’s car. On the edge of the New Haven green stands the Barbara Streisand witch. They redirect their running path multiple times to be greeted by the new army of witches that Winifred has summoned each appearing out of smoke. Winifred cackles and says, “Did I mention I found some old friends?” The three of them begin backing up back towards the ritual circle. “There is no place to run now.” All the witches laugh as the green starts lighting up and lines of fire appear on the green and reveals the green to be a large ritual field as flames shoot up along the edges of the green. Winfred laughs, “There’s no escaping this time!” Sarah says, “Spare the boy! I’ll have a little fun with him!”
Oliver looks over to Grace as the witches begin descending upon them. A beam of light comes shoots into the New Haven green creating a partition in the flames opening up a path for Grace and Oliver. At the end of the path is the ghost of Thackery Binx waving down for them to follow the path. “Thackery Binx will you stop being a thorn in my side! How many times must you die!” Thackery yells “As many times as you do!” As soon as Oliver, Grace, and Jodie leave the green. Thackery’s ghost bursts into dust keeping the witches on the green as Oliver, Grace, and Jodie escape. The witches gather around the ritual circle which is holding Phyia they all bow down and whisper in unison “The Elder Witch”. Winifred rises with an unimpressed look and looks at the ritual circle and paces around it, licks her finger, and zaps the ground causing the ground to break destroying the ritual circle that was containing Phyia. The flames that traced the paths of the New Haven greens have now turned extinguished and the only glow is coming from Phyia’s spirit with the witches still bowing except Winifred. Phyia floats towards Winifred and exchanges comments with Winifred as we see a passive aggressive exchange and a clear power struggle for top witch. The witches gather and find differences as there is a sense of urgency in their tasks as they’re only alive during the Serpentian Equinox. Phyia claims that she requires a body in order to fully attain power and she can only achieve that if she has her necklace. One of the secondary witches starts laughing and states that she has good news because they’re in New Haven there’s an active chapter of The Order…
Oliver is driving in his car with Grace tending to Jodie in the backseat. However Oliver’s car has finally driven it’s last miles as we hear it sputtering out it’s last couple of pushes. Oliver gets so frustrated with the car but the three can get a breather as it appears they’ve gotten far enough away from the witches or they aren’t following them. Jodie is being caught up on what’s happened and Grace is just happy that her sister is back. Jodie takes off Phyia’s necklace. Oliver brings the subject matter back to “Well what are we gonna do about the witches.” Grace says that she’s done for the night her sister is alive and fine and that she’s done with this craziness. Oliver is like well what about what Dani said. Grace is done and clearly doesn’t know what to do and says I’m here to show my sister a weekend at my college that’s it. With Grace’s phone obliterated Grace stands on the side of the road with Jodie as Oliver tries to fix his car and tries calling Dani. A huge truck pulls up and it’s Matthew and he’s delighted to see Grace. Matthew offers to give them a ride back to campus as long as they stop in at his fraternity’s party just for a little bit. Oliver disagrees and stays behind with Phyia’s necklace in the backseat as he waits for a tow truck.
Matthew is driving his truck with both Cahill sisters and says it’s a costume party and notices that they’re clothes are torn and tattered and asks them what they’re supposed to be. Grace says we’re just zombie survivors. Matthew isn’t wearing a costume just a sweatshirt and jeans. Grace asks Matthew what his costume is and says his costume is at the house.
Oliver sitting in the tow truck is now with the driver, necklace in hand and is talking to Dani and says that they were protected by a ghost or something during the fight. Dani smiles for a second and Oliver asks what they can do to stop them. Dani states that resurrections are only temporary and if he can prevent any youthful souls to be taken until sunrise that’s how she defeated the Sanderson sisters so many years ago. Oliver is frustrated and asks if there’s any other way to defeat or banish them, asking if there’s a spell or something he can do. Dani just says, “Well you’ll need more people.”
Grace and Jodie are at the party as they pass through brothers handing out candy in the front to small children and get to the back of the house where there’s a party happening. Matthew tells them to hang around while he puts his costume on. We see costumes of all sorts and drinks being passed around. Jodie grabs a drink off a tray and Grace looks at her. Jodie is egging on her sister to drink. Grace than glances across as she thinks she’s seen Winifred in Rachel’s sorority outfit and she disappears. Matthew comes back and he’s dressed like the Grim Reaper. Matthew urges Grace to drink and she’s now paranoid and says, “No I’m fine.” Matthew gets bumped into by what appears to be Rachel however she’s now decked out in a witches outfit and gown (Winfred’s green hood). Rachel compliments Matthew on his black hood and Rachel stares at Grace with glowing green eyes and smiles and walks away. Grace grabs Matthew and says “That’s not Rachel. They found us. We need to leave.” Matthew goes who found us. Rachel goes on top of table and kicks off some drinks on the table. Rachel yells, “Now time for a Hallow’s Eve performance from me and my sisters!” and pulls her hood over her head and turns aways from the audience for a second and turns back to reveal a full on Winifred Sanderson appearance and in the typical tuning of match pitch goes ahhhhhh! As several hooded witches amongst the party throw back their hoods and go ahhhhh! Matthew as we see his eyes turn dead and go blank as him and all the men at the party just lose focus and turn into zombie mode. Phyia still a spirit descends in and we hear a witches cover of Bad Blood (minus the Kendrick Lamar rap). The Order as it turns out has turned into the fraternity we see before us and we see everyone cheering think it’s a show besides Grace and Jodie. Phyia lowering in front of them stares at them and screams “Where’s my necklace?!?”
Phyia with an army of witches, accompanied by an army of hooded fraternity zombies now seems unstoppable. The clueless party goers scatter as Phyia unleashes a banshee like scream and the glass shatters in the room. Oliver who is now on campus with his car is arguing with the tow truck driver his charges as he sees a scattering group of college students running out of the neighboring fraternity house. The witches argue what they’re supposed to do. Winifred states that they should make a potion and gather children’s souls before sunrise so that they can live whilst Phyia argues with the group that they need to find her necklace nd find her a vessel. The two keep pushing one another in a struggle for power as Grace and Jodie watch and the other witches back up from the two. Winifred yells for Sarah to begin singing to summon children just as Sarah begins to sing a few verses of her song “Come little children” Phyia strikes her with a spell in the center of her chest. Sarah let’s out a bumbling gulp and Winifred and Mary run to her side. A teary eyed Sarah stands there holding the hands of her sisters as from the spot where Phyia struck her begins to turn her body to stone. Sarah says to her sisters, “I’m sorry Winifred! I’m sorry Mary!” Still holding her sisters hands Sarah’s hands turn to stone, and her eyes with tears running down her face also turn to stone. Phyia threatens that any witch that dares defy her will suffer the same fate as Sarah and they take off in search of the necklace and they take Jodie as Phyia wants her to be her vessel being carried off by the fraternity brothers. Winifred and Mary stand collapsed in front of a stone Sarah Sanderson with Grace standing there helpless.
Oliver then walks in through the front of the house to find the broken glass shattered scene with the stone statue of Sarah Sanderson, the saddened Sanderson sisters, and Grace in the middle of a dancefloor. Oliver rushes to Grace and she says they took Jodie. The remaining two Sanderson sisters weeping for Sarah sit on the ground a mess. Oliver says that they need to destroy Phyia before things get worse. Oliver rouses that Winifred and Mary join him and Grace to save Jodie and avenge Sarah by preventing Phyia from winning. Winifred says that they are weakened without their third sister. Oliver states that Grace can be a third witch as she’s already performed a spell tonight. Winifred turns to her book and frantically looks through the book to see if there’s a way to revive Sarah but it’s useless. Mary states that they don’t even know where they’d take Jodie and that Phyia and the witch army are looking for her necklace. Oliver pulls out the necklace from his pocket wrapped around mistletoe says, “You mean this” and smiles. Winifred and Mary look to one another and realize that they can avenge Sarah now with this in hand. Winifred smiles at Oliver and says, “Clever boy with mistletoe.”
The two Sanderson sisters have now joined forced with Grace and Oliver as they bid farewell to the Sarah statue. Grace and Oliver are riding on the back of the witches brooms as they fly off back towards the New Haven green and are discussing a plan.
Phyia and the witches are flying all over New Haven trying to smell and seek out the necklace. Phyia is frustrated as she cannot sense her necklace due to interference. Suddenly a blue beam of light from her necklace followed by a golden beam of light from the book shoot into the sky. Phyia and the witches fly towards the New Haven green as under her breath she speaks, “The Sanderson sisters will end tonight.”
The witches fly onto the green as they face Mary and Winifred on the green standing alone as the blue and golden beams of light are now gone. Phyia and Winifred stare at each other and exchange backlashes of words Phyia stating that she should’ve just taken all three of them out and Winifred speaks to the other witches behind Phyia stating that Phyia will just end them too saying that it was Winifred who resurrected them and believes in their sisterhood. Jodie’s body arrives still being held over head by the fraternity brothers. Grace then starts reading a spell from the book as a golden beam shoots into the sky and Grace is decked out in a white hooded gown looking like a new witch with Mary and Winifred also chanting the same words. The trails of the New Haven green light up as Phyia, her witch army, and The Order of fraternity brothers have been lured into a trap a containment trap to be precise. Oliver watching from a tree on the green falls in wonderment of the spell and out of his pocket falls Phyia’s necklace as it separates from the necklace shooting a blue beam into the sky. Phyia laughs, “You fools once I have my vessel and I am fully summoned a containment spell won’t keep me here!” Phyia flies to the necklace as does Winifred. Phyia flys swoops in and grabs the necklace as the two exchange blasts of spells. Mary flies to Jodie’s body being held by the fraternity brothers and basically bowling balls the group of them and flies with Jodie’s body. Grace almost stops chanting. Winifred yells to Grace to keep chanting to keep the army of witches on the ground as they keep Phyia’s necklace and Jodie’s body separated. Oliver rushes and grabs Graces hand to join in on the chanting. The witches flying over head Mary flies with Jodie’s body to keep them separated and Winifred flies after Phyia casting spells at her in an attempt to retrieve the necklace or strike her down.
Winifred manages to zap the necklace out of Phyia’s grasp as it falls onto the green however Mary’s broomstick has been struck. Winifred flies to catch Mary and the fraternity brothers grab Jodie and the necklace as Grace stops chanting and Oliver rushes over to attempt to get Jodie or the necklace. Jodie is kicking and screaming. The army of witches are now free to fly but still contained by the containment spell. The fraternity brothers put the necklace on Jodie as Phyia merges with Jodie once again. The army of witches then begin chanting. As Graces runs over to the Sanderson sisters with Oliver. The sunrise is coming as Phyia in possession of Jodie begins striking down her own witch army with spells. The fraternity comes out from under the spell and begins retreating when they run into the wall of the containment spell. Mary looks and Winifred and says, “For Sarah.” Phyia’s face is now becoming more present in Jodie’s body as a gown begins to appear on Jodie’s body. Winifred and Mary slam into Phyia and try removing her necklace and keeping her arms down from casting any spells. Winifred yells they will separate the necklace from Jodie’s body but that Oliver and Grace need to leave with Jodie’s body and that the book will serve as a temporary one way key out of the containment spell on the green. By going after the necklace we see Winifred and Mary age drastically pulling at the necklace. The two manage to pull the necklace off Jodie as we see Phyia’s spirit being pulled apart from Jodie’s body. Oliver and Grace with book in hand grab Jodie as we the witches pull in one direction towards the center of the green and Oliver and Grace running in the other direction. The Sanderson sisters holding the necklace throw it to the ground and they are now olden corpses basically and smile at one another holding hands as they fall back. Oliver, Grace, and Jodie pass through the containment wall of the greens as the book stays behind falling onto the green. Phyia’s spirit slams into the containment wall and smashes. The sun is now appearing as the remaining witches on the green turn to stone statues. The book, Phyia’s necklace, and Phyia’s spirit burst in a beautiful explosion. We flash back to the stone statues as emerge from them the sorority girls who were possessed.
Grace now still decked in her white witches gown looks to Oliver and smiles before kissing him. Grace wraps her arm around Jodie and says, “Don’t tell mom” In a flashback The Sanderson Sisters are shown as in their witch’s gowns finding the book in the woods and performing their first spell as The Hocus Pocus 2 title shows. In the credits we see the fraternity boys and girls waking up on the green confused by the craziness of the night and random cellphone videos of the party and witches and such.
